EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL, SUSTENTABILIDADE E CULTURA: proposta metodológica como aporte ao pensamento decolonial
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article addresses EA through community workshops in Northeast Brazil and aims to identify to what extent these can be constituted as methodologies and, at the same time, as instruments of decoloniality, especially in the dimensions of knowledge and nature. The research was conducted in the semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil in rural communities located in the Buffer Zone of the Furna Feia National Park, belonging to the municipality of Baraúnas, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, through community workshops in formal education spaces and other actions integrated with Community-Based Tourism. The PNFF is a Conservation Unit created for the environmental protection of its speleological wealth and biodiversity present in this environment. Thus, the research approaches environmental education from a decolonial perspective to promote ecological awareness among the residents of the Buffer Zone, as it is just as important to create fully protected areas as it is to strengthen the communities living in the surroundings, so that they feel a sense of belonging to these spaces as ecological subjects within the society-nature relationship. In the artwork, the paintings reflect the participants' perception of their place of residence and belonging, as well as their connection to their emotions and memories.
