Abstract

J.K. Gibson-Graham's reconceptualization of the economy provides an innovative framework for critical reflection on the discourses and practices of capitalist development. By providing new tools of geographical analysis to understand the diversity of practices and actors that animate economic dynamics, her work illustrates the great heterogeneity of existing economic experiences and the trajectories of community economies irreducible to the capitalist regime of representation. The book edited by Antònia Casellas, through her reading of J.K. Gibson-Graham, urges us to widen the field of the possible and to imagine alternative ways of inhabiting the world.
